The **Squirrel Monkey** mainly lives in the tropical rain forests of Central and South America, ranging from Costa Rica to the Amazon Basin in Brazil, and in some areas of Northern Colombia and Bolivia. They are primarily found in the canopy of the rainforests, where they build nests for shelter.
Squirrel Monkeys are considered one of the most diurnal (active during the day) species of primates in the world. They typically live in troops of up to 500 individuals and eat a wide variety of foods such as fruits, flowers, nuts, bird eggs, insects, and vertebrates.
