ed. A “Monkey Suit” is an informal term for the type of men’s business attire which consists of a single-breasted dark-colored suit, usually navy or black, white dress shirt, and a conservative tie. Popularized in the 1940s-1960s, it is still often worn today, either in its classical form, or modernized with the addition of brighter ties, patterned dress shirts, and other accessories.
