edA Monkey Puzzle Tree, otherwise known as Chilean Pine, is a large evergreen conifer that is native to western South America. It features a unique pattern of spiky evergreen leaves, which makes it resembling a Hedgehog or a Porcupine and give it its name. In terms of size, the Tree can reach up to 40 meters in height, making it one of the tallest conifers in the world.
One of its main characteristics is its thick and scaly bark, which is sometimes a deep reddish-brown coloration. Additionally, the Monkey Puzzle Tree produces cones that can be up to 20 cm long and can take up to 18 months to reach maturity.
