A variety of predators feed on monkeys. In the wild, large cats such as tigers, leopards, jaguars, and pumas are a major concern for monkeys.
Other predators, such as snakes, foxes, eagles, and cats, also may hunt monkeys. In some areas, humans hunt monkeys for meat or capture them to sell into the pet trade. Humans are often the greatest threat to monkeys, as habitat destruction due to logging, mining, and agricultural expansion can leave monkeys vulnerable to predation.
