A Howler Monkey’s call is one of the loudest calls of any land animal! It sounds like a loud human-like howl and can be heard up to 3 miles away in the dense forests of Latin America.
The deep, male vocalization is described as being loud enough to “bust your eardrums” and can even be heard through the walls of an apartment. It sounds menacing and intimidating but is often used for communication with other monkeys.
