To make homemade monkey bread, you will need to mix 2 packages of yeast, 1 cup of warm water, and sugar in a large bowl. Then add 4 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt, stirring together until combined. In a separate bowl, melt 1 cup of butter and add 1/4 cup of sugar.
Grease a bundt pan and pour half of the butter and sugar mixture into the pan. Stir together 3/4 cups of light brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon and sprinkle this evenly over the butter and sugar in the bottom of the pan.
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and place the biscuit pieces into the butter mixture. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture over the biscuit pieces. Pour the remaining butter and sugar mixture over the top of the biscuit pieces.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times until smooth. Put the dough into the greased bundt pan and let rise for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Allow the bread to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
